The first and most directly measurable pillar of the Manufacturing Programme is a commitment to achieve specific, time-bound average emission factors for non-polymeric PFAS residues from polymerisation aid technology across all participating European manufacturing sites.
At the end of 2024, all six consortium members successfully met the first set of targets. For air, participating companies achieved a reduction of emissions below their target of 0.009%. For water, while not all European fluoropolymer manufacturers met the 2024 annual average emission factor throughout the year, they all met that ambitious target at the end of 2024, guaranteeing emissions below 0.001% for 2025.
This milestone confirms that the voluntary approach is delivering measurable results. The consortium will continue building on this progress as it works towards the more stringent 2030 targets.
